it's always fun meeting new people and i got to finally meet in person a whole bunch of DA members during the event. i got to talk to some of them while the rest were kinda busy drawing, having their pics taken and i got a wee bit shy to actually introduce myself and disturb them from what they were doing

because of my measly budget, i only bought a few things from the event: a stuffed toy of the 1-up mushroom in mario, issue 5 of mangaholix, happy sweet's indie, and budjette tan and ka-jo baldisimo's trese vol. 1. just read the 1st chapter of trese as of this writing and i find it really really nice. budjette and ka-jo had an open forum and i asked about how they went on making the comic while having their jobs in advertising agencies. they did it by managing their free time properly, setting internal deadlines and adjusting them whenever they see the need to do some refining. then when i finally bought my own autographed copy (HWEEEEEEE!) they were nice enough to answer some more questions i was able to throw at them. my point in telling this? i really wanted to make a comic but at the same time i wanted to be financially stable. hearing them answer my questions about publishing, etc. made me want to actually push through my dream of making my own graphic novel without actually sacrificing too much time and money. saya!
i didn't get to stay that long at the event because i can't stand seeing merchandise that i cannot buy

oh, and i was really happy to see my work as part of the exhibit. yay taal!
